These rag rugs are handmade in India by the Barefoot College, an NGO in rural Rajasthan. Established in 1972, the Barefoot College is a non-government organisation that has been providing fundamental services and services to issues in rural communities, with the objective of making them self-sufficient and sustainable. These 'Barefoot services' can be broadly categorised into solar energy, water, education, healthcare, rural handicrafts, people's action, interaction, women's empowerment and wasteland development. They are made from rags that have been left over from the garment industry and handmade on a handloom. We recommend that they are hand cleaned in a cool wash. As these rugs have been made with recycled rags we can not ensure that they are colour-fast. Due to the nature of this product colours might vary.
